Team Sky’s champion, Chris Froome, Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo), Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac), and several other high-level pro riders are now on their way to participate at the China’s first edition of Tour de France Skoda China Criterium in Shangai.

Typically, most of the cycling’s long-running after-Tour criteriums have taken place a few weeks after the Tour de France ends in a pre-selected Europe country. However, ASO has been lucky to attract many big-name riders in the recent year. That is why, it is now extending its event in Asia as well. The event will take place in October 29.

A day of many cultural events

The next event will take place in Japan. However, before making the treck in this country, some of the cycling top names are now heading to Shanghai for the Tour of France Skoda China Criterium.

Riders will enjoy a day full of amazing cultural discoveries. These include lessons in Tai Chi and traditional Chinese dance.

A few days later, the group will be joined by Mark Cavendish at the Saitama Criterium. The champion will make his debut in the fifth edition of the event after finishing the London Six Day track event.
