Corriere della Sera says Froome is ready to accept drug responsibility

According to Corriere della Sera, Team Sky’s star is currently ready to accept full responsibility on his controversial salbutamol case. Apparently, Chris Froome is really hoping to only receive a six to maximum nine month ban so that the four-time Tour de France champion can still be able to get back in time for the Giro and Tour.

Currently speaking, the champion is located in South Africa trying to achieve his best shape yet through intense training routines despite his adverse analytical finding for the banned asthma drug at last year’s Vuelta a España.

Negotiating a deal?

If Chris Froome accepts the responsibility and admits that he did took twice the allowed amount of the asthma drug, he might get away with a short ban of only six to nine months. This only if the suspension’s starting date is calculated to be September 7 , 2017. This is the day he took the test. At that time, Froome was participating at the Vuelta a Espana where he ended up taking the trophy.

Corriere della Sera’s report also claims that Froome has already hired a high-profile mediator who is currently doing all he can to discuss a suitable deal for his client with the UCI.

However, Froome denied everything on his social media profile earlier this morning. He stated: “I have seen the report in Corriere della Sera this morning – it’s completely untrue.”

Giro d’Italia route for 2019 is finally revealed and we couldn’t be happier with it. Froome also agrees with us saying that the 102nd route of next season’s Giro is definitely an “explosive” one.   Giro d’Italia 2019 ? Week 1 ? Stages 1 > 9 ? 11th-19th May…
