Women’s Colorado Classic 2018: Katie Hall grabs time trial victory

UnitedHealthcare’s Katie Hall grabbed the opening stage victory in the iconic time trial in Vail at this season’s Colorado Classic during women’s race yesterday afternoon.

Hall was able to climb the demanding 15.9km course in just a few seconds more than 30 minutes and grabbed the overall lead leaving 27 seconds behind her teammate Leah Thomas. Third place when to Rally Cycling’s Gillian Ellsay who was 49 seconds behind first.

“The next two days will be for the sprinters and it will probably stay together,” Hall said a few minutes after the end of the race.

“Rally will try something, but I think there are a lot of motivated sprinters’ teams here, too. I’ve never worn the leader’s jersey here, so it’s a big honour.”
