A quite astonishing and interesting video has emerged these past couple of hours showing an Australian crashing with a jumping kangaroo. The horrifying moments show the cyclist crashing on the ground. Fortunately, she escaped with minor injuries. The same goes for the kangaroo who appeared not impressed by the event at all.
The cyclist named Rebecca, can be clearly seen riding along a unpopular road in Queensland before a jumping kangaroo suddenly appears from the bushes and hits her. The incident left her six other friends that she was riding with in total shock.
“After we crested a hill, about 30km/h into the ride, we slowed for others to catch up. Two of us also saw kangaroos on both sides of the road,” Helen, fellow cyclist said.
“The ones on the left hopped away, the one on the right waited to join its mob.”
According to the note the original video has, Rebecca suffered a knee and shoulder injury but nothing serious.
Dangerous enough?
So far, collisions between animals and cyclists are considered to be quite rare. However, there have been plenty of them captured on camera that have left us wondering whether these funny yet dangerous incidents should be taken more seriously or leave them happen until someone gets so badly hurt that can trigger certain actions and measures by the responsible institutions…
Maybe the San Francisco rider who collided with a deer a couple of years ago doesn’t think this type of incident might happen to him again. Despite the fact the crash left him with mild concussion…
