Tour de France 2017: Twitter users to vote for the Prix de la combativité award

Tour de France 2017

June 21: Twitter users to vote for the Prix de la combativité award

This year, twitter users will take an important role in deciding for the winner of the Prix de la combativité / most aggressive rider competition on this year’s Tour de France which will take place later on 1st of July.

These new rules are planned to allow further nominations through twitter, one of the most popular social medial platforms, during the two resting days, and then, twitter users will also give their final vote on the most aggressive cyclists during Tour de France’s race on the final day which will take place in Paris.

A jury for the day

However, even though the twitter platform will be one from where the nominations will be made and the winner will be voted, there will also be a specialized jury. It will be one to give the Prix de la combativité on a daily basis. Part of this jury will also be esteemed French journalists and also, race technical director, Thierry Gouvenou.

The nominations and the winner will be the ones to that get the largest number of retweets.

Last year on Tour de France, the one to win the super-combatif price was Peter Sagan.  He left behind Romain Bardet, who finished in the third place letting Chris Froome take the second overall place.
