Germany’s rider Marcel Kittel was able to sprint to the finish line faster than anyone else. Today’s stage marks his fourth win of this year’s Tour de France event while on the other hand, Froome continues to keep the leader’s yellow jersey.
After claiming the victory, Kittel also broke the Erik Zabel’s record as the German rider to collect the biggest number of stage victories in the Tour de France, surpassing Zabel’s number (12 victories) with 13 stage victories in total.
Winning four from five sprint stages only this year, Kittel definitely seems to be unbeatable. The 29-year-old German rider has also won four stages on 2013 and 2014’s Tour de France, convincing everyone he is the King of sprints.
happy about @Lotto_Soudal for giving it all for the lead out-embarrassed by my own performance-congrats @marcelkittel

Asked how he felt after setting his own record and winning the fourth stage in less than 10 days, Kittel said: “I can’t really believe it. To win four in one Tour, it is super nice. I’m really, really happy. I feel like I live in a small little bubble in a small little world and it cannot be true.”
Froome loves the yellow jersey
While Kittel was enjoying his next victory, Froome on the other hand seemed unbeatable in letting the leader’s jersey go.
After today’s, peaceful and accident-free race, Froome could easily been seen happy and confident keeping the yellow jersey on once again. This is the 50th time Froome keeps the leader’s position so far.
“It was quite relaxed as far as Tour de France flat stages go,” added Froome. “It is another day out of the way.”
Incredibly proud to pull on my 50th yellow jersey today. Thank you to @TeamSky & all the teammates who have helped me along the way ?? pic.twitter.com/JekK67dV2n
