Toshiro Muto, Tokyo 2020 organizing committee CEO, has just claimed that the water pollution levels in the Odaiba area have now started to decrease.
He also stated that they have been trying several measures to clean the water. Including underwater curtains which are supposed to create a barrier all around the competition area.
Not a long time ago, during the summer, the water quality survey detected E.coli at concentrations to up to 21 times the permitted levels by the sports’ governing body.
This left everyone in shock, especially si Japan is well-known for its cleanness and following the given parameters.
