Team Sky third at Road World Championships as Team SunWeb takes the victory

sunweb UCI road championships

On the first day of the competition at the UCI Road World championships that’s taking place in Bergen, Chris Froome’s team seemed to be unfortunate.

Team Sky took bronze in the time trial race as Team SunWeb gave an amazing performance winning both of women’s and men’s races!

Even though Froome was joined in the team by Owain Doull and Geraint Thomas, it seems it was not meant to be once the pair soon dropped off the race leaving the champion along with Michal Kwiatkowski, Vasil Kiryienka and Gianni Moscon battle all alone for the victory.

“Like we said from the start it was never going to be easy. Teams have always stepped up a lot in this event,” Brett Lancaster, team director, said.

“The guys did their best effort and at the first split they were up by a second. We waited a bit on the climb as we knew ideally we needed five guys for the end, but the guys did a super job to bring it home.

Giro d’Italia route for 2019 is finally revealed and we couldn’t be happier with it. Froome also agrees with us saying that the 102nd route of next season’s Giro is definitely an “explosive” one.   Giro d’Italia 2019 ? Week 1 ? Stages 1 > 9 ? 11th-19th May…
