Nice, France will host 2019 Ironman 70.3 World championship

A couple of days ago, Ironman announced the place that will host the 2019 Ironman 70.3 World Championship. Nice, France will be the host city and expect thousands of triathletes on Saturday, September 7 and 8.

 

Is the first time for France to host an Ironman 70.3  world championship . This two-day world event is divided in two main parts: women and age-group women that will race during the first day, and men and age-group men on the second and last day. This year (2017) is the first time Ironman 70.3 World championship is organized in a two-day format.

 


Last September, Ironman, for the first time ever, went to the south hemisphere in Queensland, Australia. This year, this world event goes to Chattanooga, Tenn. While next year, Nelson Mandela Bay, located in South Africa, will host the Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

 

After this announcement, chief Executive Officer of the Ironman, Andrew Massick, added that since 2014, Ironman 70.3 World Championship has seen a very successful and significant growth. 2014 was the year Ironman 70.3 Championship begun its world rotation for the first time.

 

A hint about Nice

 

Nice is located in the southeast coast (Côte d’Azur) of France. It is the most popular and beautiful city in this country’s Riviera. It is also the fifth biggest city in France and hosts millions of visitors each year. Nice is an extremely accessible city holding one of the biggest international airports in France. It also has a large variety of places to stay, multicultural restaurants and a large range of activities suitable for every group of age.
