Lucy charles 2018 South africa

Lucy Charles has grabbed earlier today her second career Ironman victory in Nelson Elizabeth as Susie Elizabeth accompanied her on the podium as she becomes part of her fourth consecutive Ironman South Africa.

The young Brit was also able to break the nine-hour record by setting a personal best by finishing the total, three-leg route in 8:56:06.

It was this impressive result which put her in the distinguished club of British triathletes who have been able to win multiple full-distance IRONMAN events.

The swim segment saw Lucy in an amazing shape clocking 47:32, a time that was beaten by only one man, Australian Josh Amberger who clocked 46:24.
