He has admitted that after retiring at last year’s edition of Paris-Roubaix, he now plans to focus his career on giving professional advices before and after each race to the new team’s riders.
“My role for the Lotto Soudal team will be an advising role. I certainly won’t be looking over the shoulders of everybody,” Boonen said.
“But on the areas where I can share my experience, I will gladly do so. Of course I know a lot of staff members and riders, so I won’t need to adapt much to the team.”
This afternoon @tomboonen1 was presented as an ambassador for @CaptofCycling. And there’s more: he will play an advising role in the @Lotto_Soudal team!
