ITU: 4 classification seminars for Technical Officials

ITU

June 30: ITU has organized 4 classification seminars as part of the Technical Officials education.

After passing through a process of adjustments and changes, especially after the Paratriathlon’s debut in Rio 2016, now it was the right time for ITU to organize and focus on boosting the education for classifiers all around the world.

During the last couple of months, ITU has been able to organize four classification seminars. They took place in four different continents.

In total, there were 33 p[participants coming from 17 countries. Most of these nations were already classifiers on several different levels and they were seeking to get re-certified. In total, there were four facilitators in the two-day seminar courses.

Locations

They took place in conjunction with the CAMTRI Paratriathlon Continental Championships a couple of months ago in the United States; the second one with the Gold Coast World Paratriathlon Series which took place on April in Australia; the third along with the Yokohama World Paratriathlon Series,  took place on May.

The last seminar took place in Kitzbühel during the ETU Paratriathlon Continental Championships.

These seminars gave the Trainees the opportunity to be present for the classification assessments. Athletes were happy to be able to cooperate and allow new classifiers to observe their classification. The high number of trainees allows ITU to continue growing the pool of classifiers.
