Hammer Series: Team Sky takes the first place in the inaugural series (VIDEO)

Team Sky

After beating Team Sunweb in a sprint finish, team Sky took the deserved victory at the Hammer series during the final day.

Even though Team Sky started 32 seconds ahead of Sunweb team, they fought hard to surpass the Germans for around 50 km team time trial pursuit. They were only caught with a 3.8 km distance to go before the finish line.

Before arriving to the final 800 metres, no one could predict the winner from these teams being so close to each other creating almost no difference between them until Team Sunweb finally closed the gap.

Despite Team Sunweb’s rider, Tao Geoghagen, which was found solo coming down to a sprint between three other Team Sky’s riders which were fighting to give their team the victory, he was unable to cross neither one of them.

Orica-Scott took the third place while Movistar was the one to take the victory on Friday’s opening climbing race. Trek-Segafredo was the Saturday’s race winner.
