The Hell of Cycling: Giro d’italia to have an Uphill finish at the Monte Zoncolan

The Giro d’Italia organizers have now confirmed that the next year’s Grand Tour will feature an uphill finish on stage 14 at the Monte Zoncolan.

The race will move to this particular region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia on May the 18th, on Saturday. All riders will have to showcase some incredible uphill riding skills. They will climb a 10.1 kilometer segment and will reach more than 1.200 metres of height.

Back again

The last time when this mount was featured in the Giro d’Italia was in 2014. Australian Michael Rogers took the final victory of the stage while Colombian Nairo Quintana got his overall.

On the other hand, in 2010, cyclists had to climb this mountain for the third time with Ivan Basso taking the victory at the same year when he was able to take his second General Classification win at the Giro.
