Giro d’Italia 2018: Froome Included in the list despite doping results

Chris Froome

It’s official, four-time Tour de France winner Froome is among the four Team Sky’s riders in the provisional list for this year’s Giro d’Italia tour.

Froome, 32, despite the fact his adverse analytical finding is still under investigation, is now aiming to become the third rider to win three Grand Tours, right after claiming the 2017 Tour de France and Vuetla a Espana titles.

This year’s 101st edition of the Giro d’Italia is set to begin on 4th of May for the first time ever outside the Europe in Jerusalem, Israel. The old city will welcome the first three stages right before the first resting day starts that will give the race organizers and riders enough time to travel back to the tour’s home country.

Team Sky’s start list

Team Sky, besides Froome, has three riders included at this year’s provisional start list from his 2017 Tour-winning team:

Vasil Kiryienka

Christian Knees

Sergio Henao

The team Sky leader seems enthusiastic to ride the Giro for the first time since 2010 even though he still has to explain to the UCI (the cycling’s governing body) the results of his doping test which indicated twice the allowed amount of salbutamol in his urine during last year’s Vuelta a Espana where he won the title.

Giro d’Italia route for 2019 is finally revealed and we couldn’t be happier with it. Froome also agrees with us saying that the 102nd route of next season’s Giro is definitely an “explosive” one.   Giro d’Italia 2019 ? Week 1 ? Stages 1 > 9 ? 11th-19th May…
