According to some reports made public these last couple of days, Team Sky rider was supposedly negotiating and discussing contracts with the American, BMC team.
Today, Froome has completely denied this news claiming it is complete rubbish. Well, it seems this news made him very angry saying: “Complete rubbish. I don’t know where that’s come from,” he told Cyclingnews. “As it stands I have a contract until the end of 2018. I’ve got no intentions of leaving. I’ve not even thought about it. There’s been no discussion with Ochowicz.”
One of the first newspapers to come up with this untrue news was L’Équipe, one of the most famous French papers. According to its report, Froome was the one to offer his services to the American cycling team, BMC. According to this news, Froome had requested a 5 million Euro salary despite the fact he was still under contract with Team Sky until 2018.
A long relationship
Froome has been one of the main Team Sky riders since on its inception times when he first signed and became part of the Sky’s family back in 2010. He will bid the team’s fifth Tour de France title this July.

In the meanwhile, BMC’s team leader for Tour de France is Porte. When asked whether he would like to ride again with Porte in the near future, Froome admitted that would be possibility but once again, he claimed to haven’t been in any talk with BMC.
“I’d love to ride with Ritchie again but I’ve got no intentions of leaving Team Sky. The story is not true. It’s absolutely false. I’ve no idea where that came from. I’ve not been in any talks with BMC.”- added Froome.
Froome lost almost 39 seconds to Porte in the time trial stage of Criterium du Dauphine back on Wednesday, leaving him devastated admitting that time trial was tough and it was not his best performance. “We’ve got three weeks now after the Dauphine in terms of time trial work, and it’s something obviously that I’ll have to work on.”- said Froome.
