His full declaration regarding the attack

“I started cycling at the age of 12 with all the [carelessness] that goes with it and was far from suspecting that this passion would give birth to a profession, that of a cyclist.

I was also far from suspecting that during my career I was going to meet magical people. People who for some will leave far too soon. I was also far from imagining that this trade would be so dangerous.

I was also far from imagining that my job would sometimes be at the peril of my life. Today [I was] victim of an assault, based on a blade and baseball bat during a workout with two friends. Result: a fractured nose, a rib in a [bad state], and bruises all over the body, But beyond physical wounds, I am especially shocked. I’m not angry, I’m just sad to find that this beautiful sport that I like, I did not want my kids to practice, it’s too dangerous. You leave for training in the morning, but you never know if you’re going [to come] home. Just sad to note, that in the country of human rights, the rights of cyclists are ignored. “

French cyclist admits he suffered from a broken nose and bruising when two men holding a box-cutter knife and a baseball bat brutally attacked him. Offredo was apparently training with this all happened. The 30 year old Frenchman cyclist added a photo on his Facebook profile showing his bloodied face and injured arm. “You leave for training in the morning, but you never know if you’re going home,” he added. He admitted to be left in shock and with several physical injuries.

Until now, Offredo hasn’t specified anything else about the attackers and the exact location this brutal attack took place. He was riding with two of his friends when this all happened and it seems Offredo will definitely take this case further.

French cyclist spent most of his career (2007 – 2016) wearing his French kit FDJ. Then, he signed in the Belgian team Wanty-Groupe Gobert. He has a valid contract until 2018. Some of his career highlights include results in the top-10 finishes at the Milan- San Remo tour. Also, in the Tour de Paris and Omloop Het Nieuwsblad tour.
