An almost tragic event has happened a few days ago when the FDJ rider, Aude Biannic is left tramatised after a car hit her while training.
Since the crash happened, Biannic hasn’t been on the road due to the fact she is still unable to properly perform any physical activity to the right level and also, the accident has left her traumatized. This event has made her feel unsecure about her safety. Even though Biannic admitted in an interview that first, she didn’t want to talk about this event that happened to her on Tuesday, she now feels ready to open herself about it and admitted the crash has left traumatized.
When this accident happened, she was training on her time trial near Rennes, France and she was struck behind from a driver. Unfortunately, she hasn’t felt good and strong enough to step outside her home since then and most importantly to return back to her normal cycling routine afraid that she might be hit again.
“I do not want to go on the road. I am scared. The first time I go out to train, I certainly will not go alone. Looking back, I think I was lucky. A few centimeters … If the person had not braked at all, she would have crushed me. In my misfortune, yes, I had a little luck.”- added Biannic
Epidemic accidents
Unfortunately, Biannic’s accident is only one of the many other dangerous and scary events in the cycling world that have happened during these last couple of months. One of the most tragic events was the one that killed Michele Scarponi. He was struck by a truck a few weeks ago. Sadly, he couldn’t survive the accident…
Another accident involved Tour de France champion, Chris Froome who was hit by a car while trining last month. Fortunately he was only left with several injuries. Wanty-Groupe Gobert’s rider, Yoann Offredo was also part of a scary accident. He was left with a broken nose and ribs. He was suddenly attacked by an unidentified motorist while training with his teammates.
