One of Britain’s best cyclists, Mark Cavendish, has decided to take a period of complete rest due to a sudden dangerous virus known by the name Epstein-Barr virus.
According to his team, the 33-year old champion will take an indefinite break due to the presence of this virus.
The thing is, the recently-conducted medical tests have indicated that the 2011 champion of the World Road Race event has been training for the last couple of months with EBV- which is known to cause fever.
Good morning,@MarkCavendish will miss the upcoming immediate race schedule on medical advice.

Finally having the needed clarity
“This season I’ve not felt physically myself. Despite showing good numbers on the bike I have felt that there’s been something not right,” Cavendish, second best rider in the world who was first diagnosed with EBV in April 2017, said.
“I’m glad to now finally have some clarity as to why I haven’t been able to perform at my optimum level during this time.”
Since last year, Cavendish has suffered the consequences of several accidents while cycling which have left him with broken collarbone, among others.
He also suffered some serious injuries on two crashes this March that forced him to abandon April’s Commonwealth Games.
On the other hand, this July, Cavendish was forced to abandon Tour de France after finishing way outside the time limit on eleventh stage.
