Breaking: Green quits Cycling Australia as Drake takes over the CEO position

Cycling Australia CEO Nick Green has resigned as another board member Steven Drake is set to take over the position. This is the second time in the past year that such major personnel changes take place at Cycling Australia.

Steven Drake has taken over with immediate effect after Cycling Australian announced that its chief executive has decided to quit his position which he has held since 2014 replacing the then-CEO Melinda Tarrant. Green is now moving to a job part of the private sector.

Proud of the progress

“I am extremely proud of the progress and achievements during my time as CEO and I am pleased that Steve will inherit a strong national federation,” Green said in an official statement.

“I have seen enormous and positive change over the past three years. It is now timely for me to take on a new professional challenge.”

On the other hand, Cycling Australia chairman Steve Bracks expressed his positive thoughts on Green’s performance and his leadership duties in general, especially since Green inherited a real financial mess when he first took the position three years ago.

“I am delighted that CA is back in a sound position and ready to grow to its next phase,” Bracks stated.
