This year’s Tour of Britain will take place in North Lincolnshire as the region to host the stage for more than 100 world’s best cyclists! They will pedal for the 2017 OVO Energy Tour through a route made public yesterday. In total there will be 8 stages starting from Edinburgh to Cardiff.
The third stage of this Tour will take place on September 5 in North Lincolnshire.This stage will begin at Normandy Hall Country Park and after a 172 km-ride, the cyclists will finish the stage in the middle of Scunthorpe, next to the Central Park.
It is expected that around 120 top-class, elite cyclists to be part of this Tour, part of some of the most popular and best cycling teams today. The Tour of Britain is expected to begin on Sunday, September 3, 2017 with Edinburgh as the starting place and Cardiff the last.
This tour is considered to be the British Cycling’s premier road cycling event. It is the highest-ranked stage-divided professional race in UK.

Stage One – Sunday, September 3 -> Edinburgh to Kelso (188km)
Stage Two- Monday, September 4 -> Kielder Water & Forest Park to Blyth (211km)
Stage Three – Tuesday, September 5 -> Normanby Hall Country Park to Scunthorpe (172km)
Stage Four- Wednesday, September 6 -> Mansfield to Newark-on-Trent (175km)
Stage Five – Thursday, September 7 -> The Tendring Stage Individual Time Trial (16km)
Stage Six – Friday, September 8 -> Newmarket to Aldeburgh (183km)
Stage Seven – Saturday, September 9 -> Hemel Hempstead to Cheltenham (186km)
Stage Eight – Sunday, September 10 -> Worcester to Cardiff (180km)
Rob Waltham, the North Lincolnshire Council leader added in an interview: “I am thrilled that we are hosting an entire stage of the Tour of Britain. This is the first time we will hold an entire stage, but it is not the first time the Tour of Britain has visited North Lincolnshire as the start of the 2009 race began in Scunthorpe outside of the Civic Centre.”
