_ The 2022 Lake Country Triathlon:

Registration will open fall 2021.

Started in 1983, the Lake Country Tri was one of the first and largest tris in Wisconsin. The race would sell out every year but eventually changed hands and disappeared in 1993. Silver Circle Sports Events, LLC brought the event back in 2015 and has sold out each year.

The course starts at Oconomowoc's City Beach on Lake Lac Labelle followed by a bike ride through Lake Country's beautiful countryside.  The run is right down Wisconsin Avenue with athletes and spectators cheering you on.

SWIM: Starting on Lac la Belle, swimmers will complete two loops of their respective swim course. Swimmers will exit Lac la Belle at the War Memorial and run approximately 0.2 miles to enter transition. Water temperatures at the end of July and typically mid-70's making the race wet suit legal. We use USAT guidelines to determine final wetsuit eligibility -- this decision will be made race week.  SWIM MAP (coming soon)

BIKE: The bike course transverses the rolling ground moraine landscape northwest of Oconomowoc. All athletes will follow the same route until about mile 15 when the olympic athletes split off to the south with the half iron athletes continuing west. At this point, the olympic course heads south and east back into Oconomowoc. The half iron continues west before coming back east to rejoin the olympic course. All athletes can expect scenic country views, rolling hills, and a few not so rolling hills that will definitely get the legs burning and your heart rates jumping! We are also very fortunate that many of the roads on our course have been recently repaved, providing a smooth and fast ride.  OLYMPIC BIKE MAP  |  HALF IRON BIKE MAP

**Please note, we have updated the bike course from previous years -- both olympic and half iron courses are slightly different. We made this change for several reasons including athlete safety and to make the bike course an overall better experience. All athlete, regardless of distance, will complete a small (half mile) out and back. While not ideal, this was necessary to maintain our bike course distances while still keeping athletes as safe as possible.

NEW: BIKE COURSE TRASH ZONES: In order to minimize trash on course, we are implementing trash (throw-away) zones on the bike course this year. Olympic athletes will pass one trash zone and half iron athletes will pass a total of four trash zones. No athlete may dispose of any trash/water bottles outside of these zone while on the course. Officials will be on course to enforce this new rule and athletes found to knowingly dispose of trash outside of these zone will be disqualified from the race. We know this seems harsh, but the reality is that a bike course littered with trash impacts our ability to get permits and hold the race in the future.

BIKE AID STATION: Half iron athletes will pass an aid station on course at about miles 17 and 41. The aid station will have bottles of water and gatorade sports bottles. There will also be a bathroom located at the aid station. There is no aid station on the olympic bike course -- athletes should plan to bring their own aid.

RUN: The run course takes athletes out west on Wisconsin Avenue and runs through neighborhoods on the southern shore of Lac la Belle. This is an out and back course with Olympic runners turning at mile 3.1 and half iron runners turning a little later down the road. Olympic runners will complete one out and back while half iron runners will complete two out and backs. Runners will finish their race by running through the finisher shoot near city beach.  OLYMPIC RUN MAP | HALF IRON RUN MAP

AID STATIONS: There are two aid stations on course, and olympic athletes will pass each aid station twice at about 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, and 5 miles. Half iron athletes will pass the same two aid stations four times each at about 1.5, 2.5, 3.75, 5.25, 8, 9.5, 10.5, and 12 miles. Aid stations will have water, gatorade, and energy gels. Runners should dispose of trash in the trash containers on course.
