When you are on the beach at South Haven on South Beach looking out over beautiful, crystal clear Lake Michigan it is easy to think Miami. Miles of white sandy beach, a great little downtown with great stores and restaurants to visit. The course will not disappoint with both bike and run courses taking you along lake michigan and back. Both courses are flat and fast. You will have one short climb up out of the south beach area. The focal point of the event is the great beach finish. A series of stairs will take you down to the white sandy beach about 300m from the finish line. The key to the last 300m is picking the right line and being light on your feet the last 300m through the chute to the finish.

The swim in beautiful crystal clear Lake Michigan. Of course it is well documented the lake can get violent and cold literally in hours time. So you need to understand when participating in any event on the Great Lakes this is possible. Your safety will not be compromised.
The bike is shaded almost the entire way with rolling smooth roads.
The run course is flat except at the long course turnaround. The surprise for this event is something like no other around, we did it when we were here before and athletes loved it. You will take about 30 stairs down to the beach, where you will have to find the quickest line to take to run through 400m of white potentially hot sandy beach to the finish line on the beach. Picking the right line through the sand is the key, obviously you want to find the sure footing.
