Level 1: Beginner triathlete & new to Heart Zones Team Coaching
Enjoy a safe and supportive team training environment, geared to teach you all of the basics needed to know in order to complete your first triathlon. Many of our level 1 athletes are experiencing the sport of triathlon for their first time, some just making their way back into a workout routine desiring to lose weight, get fit and make a positive change in their life. While others may already have some experience in running, cycling or swimming. Whatever your experience level, this training is the best "first step" you can take in learning how to successfully cross the finish line with a smile on your face and ready to compete again in a very supportive environment!
You will learn the triathlon skills needed for swimming in open water, cycling in large groups for triathlon, run/walk, transitions, nutrition, injury prevention, goal setting and motivation.
What's included:  With your training, you will receive a comprehensive, science-based on-line training plan to help ensure your success with the Heart Zones proven training methodology for your success! The women who join our training programs enjoy the experience of camaraderie, support and dedication of the other women training together to reach their individual goals!
Prerequisite: must be able to swim up to 4 laps in a pool, bike up to 4 miles comfortably, and run/walk 1-1.5 miles.
Level 1 Training is an 8-wk training program that leads up to the Danskin Triathlon in August
Level 2: Returning Athletes: Experienced triathlete, previously completed a triathlon and/or participated in Heart Zones Team Coaching
Ready to take your training and performance to the next level? Any triathlete returning to our training program will learn the difference between just finishing the race to getting the skills, the coaching, the advanced training and support to boost their training up to the next level and making new PR's!
This requires more than just showing up, learning the basics and following a workout. Proper nutrition, rest, goal setting, logging/tracking workouts, mental focus, the desire and dedication to train are some of the other factors that will be addressed with returning athletes.
Prerequisite: For athletes ready to take it to the next level, we strongly encourage all triathletes begin the training program with a strong aerobic base, spending time throughout the week swimming, cycling and running for at least up to 2 months+ prior to the start of the training program or at least 40 minutes a day most days of the week 5+.
Whether you have a goal to complete a triathlon for your second or third time, improve in one or more of the three sports or if it's to achieve a personal best, we gladly welcome you back to our training team!
Level 2 Training joins the 8-wk training program that leads up to the Danskin Triathlon in August and is geared towards anyone desiring to compete in any triathlon during the summer.
