The Hope Starts Here Challenge is a fundraising event for the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center.
Participants can chose from the Duathlon, 5K and 10K runs. There is also a noncompetitive family and dog friendly run/walk/bike along the Lake Superior Shoreline bike path. The competitive events are chip timed by Superior Timing and age group awards will be given out.
Lunch from Subway is included in the registration fee as is a technical T shirt from North Face.
Lakeview arena is a gorgeous venue. The duathlon transition zone is inside. Sponsor and vendor booths will be on display. Every penny raised goes to fund the programs of the UMBTC.

Course Information:
The 5K run is a flat out and back along the Lake Superior Shoreline. The 10K is an extension of the 5K around Presque Isle, a wooded and windswept island in Lake Superior (connected to the mainland by a land bridge). The route around Presque Isle is hilly, with amazing views of the Lake.
The two duathlon 5Ks are over the same 5K course. The 10 mile mountain bike course is gently rolling, no technical or dangerous areas.

In Marquette, Michigan. Lakeview arena is at the corner of Fair Avenue and the Lakefront.
