Calling all aspiring triathletes, ages 8 to 12! You can swim, bike and run your way to the finish line at the 5th Annual Half-Pint Triathlon on Saturday, May 21 at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Road. Register now for this fun event presented by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department. All registraion is by mail and forms and event rules are available online at www.wcparksandrec.com. Only the first 100 entrants will be accepeted. the entry fee is $20 per child.
Packet pick-up is Friday, May 20th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Franklin Recreation Complex.
Race check-in begins Saturday, May 21st at 6:00am with a transition area meeting at 7:00am for racers and parents, followed by a race time of 7:30am.
Athletes will be divided into two ages groups: Joniors, ages 8-9, and Seniors, ages 10-12 (age as of 5/21/16).
Juniors will swim 50 meters in the pool, bike 1.5 miles and run 0.5 miles.
Seniors will swim 100 meters, bike 3 miles and run 1 mile.
Each child will receive an official triathlon medal and t-shirt. Children must be accompanied by parents, and all racers are required to wear appropriate swim wear in the pool and shoes while biking and running. Each child should bring a bicycle and a helmet to the event.
