This much loved spring trail run is held on the fabled cross country ski trails of the Iola Winter Sports Club in north central Wisconsin. The event is organized by Great Lakes Endurance, well known for its ecologically mindful trail running events. Race shirts are made from 100% recycled fibers. Awards include one pound blocks of artisan cheese from the nearby Oak Grove Dairy, which sources its milk from only three local family farms. Runners will enjoy beautiful glaciated terrain, pine and hardwood forest and two miles through northern prairie. Races start near the ski chalet and are comprised of a combination of wide, grassy cross country ski trails and forested single track, including a classic section of the Ice Age Trail. The 15K course follows the 5K course back to the ski chalet and then heads out on a challenging 10K outer loop. This event supports kid's nordic skiing programs at the Iola Winter Sports Club.
