An experience unique to Hayward, this Mini Triathlon will take advantage of the town's great trail systems and beautiful scenery. It will give everyone in the area, as well as those who love to travel to Hayward, the chance to experience an event we have been lacking for years . People may participate as individuals or as teams. The event will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2015.
Course Information:
300 M SWIM - 10 K MOUNTAIN BIKE - 2 K TRAIL RUN
The Swim Will Begin To The Left of Lake Hayward Beach, making a half loop that ends at the Beach.
The Mountain Bike Ride will begin near the beach, where bags and bikes will have been planted. It will then follow Hall Of Fame Drive to Highway B, which will have a designated lane closed off for the race. That will connect to Chippewa Trail, which will then connect with Wheeler Road. Half way down Wheeler Road, Riders will take a right onto the Birkie Trail. The majority of the ride will follow the Birkie Trail, which does cross Highway 77. Then, just past the 42K Mark, Riders will take a left onto the Single Track Trail. Eventually this will split, and Riders will take a right. This will come out near the Hatchery. From there, the course will keep to the right, crossing a bridge and climbing up to the "top" Parking Lot at Hatchery. Riders will cross the lot, and take the path that comes down the opposite side of the Hatchery Trail. This will cross Hatchery Road, coming out at the "middle" Parking lot, where Bikes will be left. Bags will also have been planted here.
Then the trail run begins! Runners will follow the trail around the Hatchery (via mostly single track), and finish near the cabin!

Race Time: Start time will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 15th. Parking will be marked, between the lot near the Fishing Hall of Fame and the Lumber Jack Village.

Age Requirements: Participants must be at least 16 years of age. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent signature upon waiver signing.

There will be a Prizes for those who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category (Men, Women, Group) that will include gift certificates/free products from local businesses, such as Riverbrook Bike & Ski, Hayward Fitness Fanatics, and Outdoor Ventures!
