The Zombie Dash 5K : |
Obstacle/Mud Runs : Adventure Run With Zombies Chasing You |
Run a 5K on post-apocalyptic streets and paths. Race against darkness. Dodge the zombies and keep your "flag football" life strips to avoid infection and stay alive (time bonus).
Your mission involves entering the quarantine zone in the heart of the infection area: downtown Grand Rapids. You will enter the zone at the north side of Ah-Nab-Awen Park on the riverwalk. Don’t get too cozy looking at the beautiful lights and river because once you cross Sixth Street Bridge, the zombie concentrations are high. You will work your way past several mobs and eventually enter Belknap Park and the aptly named Kill Hill where you’ll experience a lung-sucking climb, the only elevation gain on the course but it’s a doozy. The advance scout team will do their best to keep zombies distracted and away from this hill so you can survive the climb.
If you make it to the top, it’s all downhill (or at least level ground) from there as you’ll catch an aid station (just in time) and experience Look Out!! Park. Survive that and you’ll descend the steep Fairbanks stairs which have been cleared of zombies by the advance team, return to the riverwalk along the Grand River, and head down to the Blue Bridge. You’ll cross over the Grand and return back out of the quarantine area at Ah-Nab-Awen. It should be a quick in and out, which is good when you are the main dish for the undead.
