After finding your way through the city you end up on North Shore Dr. heading North over Hwy 16. Turn Right onto Lynndale Rd for a nice smooth downhill section of the course. Your final Right turn brings you towards your final climb of the course. Head South on High Rd. and find youself flying down the city streets on a final descent into the Attitude Transition area. You must dismount your bike before proceeding underneath the transition archway.
Bike Course Rules: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Slower riders to the right, Passing / Faster riders to the left.
Communicate with the other athletes on the course. Use proper riding ediute while racing:
"on your left" / rider left" - to be said as you approach a slower rider to make them known of your presence.
For riders passing another athlete, pleases follow these steps:
1 - look behind you BEFORE pulling out into the left passing lane
2 - Complete the pass and check for clearance.
3 - Move back to the right side "riding side" of the race course.
Railroad Crossing:
There are two railroad crossings along this route. Course Official are stationed at each crossing with safety vests, flags and horns to get your attention in the event a train does cross. In this instance - riders will cross over a timing mat laid out on the bike course aprox 50 yards before the track (this records your time and lets us know when you got stopped). Upon the clearance of the train, Course officials will release you as you ride your bike over a second timing mat giving us the complete time you were stopped at the tracks. This time is then deducted from your bike portion and ultimately deducted from your overall Race time.
Please be sure to follow course official instructions and NEVER try to "beat the train". Any rider deciding to race passed course officials, failing to stop when directed will be disqualified from the event and given no finishing time.
Below is a note from CP Rail regarding the Pewaukee Triathlon:
"The CP tracks in your community are part of a busy North American rail corridor, and trains should be expected at any time. Train movements are dependent on many factors and are not scheduled - any time is train time. CP does not provide specific information on train movements to the public.
Further, we anticipate that local police will likewise ensure that no one is allowed to cross CP track when a train is approaching or when crossing warning devices are activated. Equally important, everyone must remain clear of the right-of-way adjacent to the track; under no circumstances should this area be used as a pathway.
The Federal Railroad Association regulates rail road operations including train speed, grade crossing protection and locomotive horn use. As CP is required to comply with our governing regulations, we fully expect the public - pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicle operators alike - to adhere to the laws enacted to protect the public from the danger that are inherent to railroad operation."
Transition #2

Run Course

It's where you can make or break your race. Push through and crush your way to the turnaround located inside the industrial parking lot. Head back out onto Wisconsin Ave. and onto the final stretch. A quick uphill onto Lookout Drive and then a sprint to the finish on a slight downhill directing you into the Pewaukee Public Library Finish Line.
