The Rib Mountain Adventure Challenge is an adventure race in which teams of 2-4 members will run, bike, and paddle their way through the rugged and beautiful Central Wisconsin wilderness using only a map and compass to find the way. Team members must stick together throughout the duration of the race. With plenty of route choices and obstacles to test your team’s physical strength and mental resolve, this race will be fun for beginners and seasoned athletes alike. Choose either the 3-hour or 8-hour challenge.

Time: 8-hour race- 9:00am-5:00pm (check-in 7:30am)
3-hour race- 2:00pm-5:00pm (check-in 12:30pm)

Entry Fees:
Race fees include T-shirt, post-race food and drink, maps, canoes, paddles and PFDs, prizes and give-a-ways, plus all facility and land use fees. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the UW-Marathon County Foundation Student Scholarship Fund.
3-hour:
Early: $60/person
Regular: $75/person
Late: $85/person
8-Hour:
Early: $85/person
Regular: $100/person
Late: $110/person

Refund Policy:
If your team is unable to race, you may sell your entry to another team. Due to the costs associated with planning and hosting this event, we cannot offer refunds.

1st Basis Adventure Racing Series:
This race is part of the 1st Basis Adventure Racing Series, Wisconsin’s premier race series featuring seven different adventure races throughout the state and cash prizes totaling over $2,000. There is no fee to join the series, simply race any of the seven events and you’ll be automatically signed up. The more races your team competes in, the better chance you’ll have of taking home prizes. Compete in either the coed or open division in teams of 2, 3, or 4, and see how your team ranks against others in the midwest.
Lodging:
There are numerous hotels in the Rib Mountain and Wausau area within 10 miles of the race start.
Race HQ will be the Chalet at Nine Mile Recreation Area in Wausau, WI. Park in the large parking lot off of Red Bud Road. 8704 Red Bud Rd, Wausau, Wisconsin 54401
