The Renaissance Race Against Cancer 5K Run/Walk is a community-wide event held annually in Wisconsin Rapids. The 5th annual RRAC will take place on Saturday, June 13th. All funds are donated to the Cancer Patient Fund of the UW Cancer Center at Riverview Hospital, providing assistance to local cancer patients with expenses such as co-pays, transportation, nutrition, skin care, and more. Around 1,000 people participate in the 5K every year. The past four years have netted over $100,000 for the fund.

Course Information:

The RRAC is a fast, flat out-and-back course on paved, traffic-free roads. It begins and ends in front of the Renaissance Learning, Inc., headquarters.

Directions:

The Renaissance Learning, Inc., headquarters is located at 2911 Peach Street, on the east side of Wisconsin Rapids. It is easily accessible from state highway 54, which lies just north of the facility. Exit highway 54 at 32nd Street and drive south for several blocks. Another option is to drive the highway 54 bypass, the Riverview Expressway, and turn east on Peach Street to reach the 5K event location. Overflow parking is located at nearby Midstate Technical College, on 32nd Street.

This chip-timed race begins at 9 a.m. sharp, rain or shine. A free quarter-mile Kids' Run precedes the 5K at 8:30 a.m. Prizes for the 5K will be awarded promptly at 10 a.m., going to overall male and female participants, top male male and female cancer survivors, wheelchair division, and five-year age categories for each gender.

Registration is available online starting 2/1/15, and by printed form from the race website. Registration is $25 online (no extra fees!) through 5/15/15 or by valid entry form postmarked by that date. Later registrations will be $30. Registration will be available online through 6/10/15. Participants may register on race day, 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. outside Renaissance Learning at the start of the race.
