Tri To Finish is excited to once again host the premier multisport event in Michigan's thumb area. Athletes will have the opportunity to see more of the untapped thumb region. The swim will take place in the beautiful water of Lake Huron. The bike course will trace the waterline out and back; smooth and flat conditions should create an incredibly fast bike split. The run course takes athletes toward the central part of the thumb and is relatively flat and on back roads that are paved or packed gravel.
Once again athletes will complete an out and back course finishing on the pristine beaches of Caseville County Park. Caseville boasts numerous summer festivals and we are fortunate to capstone this year’s Motown Summer Concert with a Sunday morning triathlon. Come enjoy the Motown band in the band shell at the park, near packet pickup. Put this one on your destination race list as it is not one you will want to miss.
Caseville, located directly off Lake Huron, is the perfect host town for a multisport event. Nestled amongst Caseville’s summer festivities, Movin' and Groovin' Triathlon/Duathlon is a fast and beautiful race. The swim will take place in the crystal clear waters of Lake Huron with athletes completing a rectangular swim (athletes will follow pre-determined buoys based on distance). The bike course is an out and back on newly paved roads along Lake Huron. You'll enjoy picturesque views the entire way. Half Iron Distance and Olympic athletes will bike 20km to the turnaround with Half Iron Athletes going back out on the course for a second lap. Sprint and Duathlon athletes will bike 10km to their turnaround. The run traverses a road parallel to the bike course. Half Iron Distance athletes will run 10.5km to your turnaround. Olympic athletes will run 5km to their turnaround. Sprint and Duathlon athletes will run 2.5km to their turnaround.
For those of you outside the thumb, make your way to Bay City and hop on M-25 East. Follow it around the west side of the thumb until you get to Caseville. Caseville County Park will be on the left if you're coming from the South. Alternatively, you could take M-24 north until it meets up with M-25.
For those of you inside the thumb, let's be honest you know where Caseville is...it's the rest of us that need help.
