The Dirty Dan Dash, presented by Danville Regional Medical Center, is a 3.7-mile dash through Danville's River District, Dan Daniel Memorial Park and along the Riverwalk trail. The course features various obstacles, challenges and one nasty mud pit.
The Dirty Dan Dash begins with a 20-30-yard mud pit. After the pit, runners make their way along the streets of downtown Danville where they face various obstacles from a fire jump to a dumpster dive. After the city side of the race, runners cross the Dan River on an old train trellis and run up a paved walking trail. Runners then face various obstacles throughout Dan Daniel Memorial Park including hay mountains, mud and web crawls and sand mountains. The course also includes an uphill climb through the woods. The race ends in the same mud pit in which it began.
