This event was one of the original race venues of the Wheelie Fun Series 18 years ago. Hueston Woods State Park was always a fan favorite and was yielding significant (500+) participant numbers, well before the sport grabbed a firm foothold on the Ohio multisport community.
Hueston Woods offers a beautiful venue that Mark Lemmon (then a writer for Lew Kidders Triathlon Today) once proclaimed was made for a triathlon. With a rolling 9 mile cycling loop surrounding the boat-free Acton Lake and a run up the Sugar Bush trail, Hueston Woods is nearly a perfect triathlon venue.
