Dont think we need to say much about Mackinaw City! It is both Annmarie and Kennys favorite event and one they TRY to participate in each year. Something about this city, the history, where it sits between Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, the mighty mac bridge, a swim that is like your bath tub in clarity. The venue set up is literally right downtown, steps from dozens of all the stores and shops and less than 400m from the hotels. It is just awesome, a perfect little 300 athlete event. Why an international distance? so you can finish and still enjoy the rest of your day in beautiful and hostoric Mackinaw or jet over to the island for the rest of the day. After swimming in the shadows of the Mighty Mac bridge, you will enjoy a great ride out to Wilderness state park which takes you along both lakes and a nice little climb as well. Then the run will take you under the bridge, past historic fort Michilmac to a turnaround down a tiny street on lake Huron before coming back downtown past the lighthouse for a great finish downtown Mackinaw City, Mi.
