Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park Triathlon and Duathlon. June 20th, 2020 8am to 1pm

The triathlon is a paddle, bike, run event and the duathlon is a run, bike, run event at the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park at Beach Street in Manawa.  The triathlon/duathlon is a fundraiser for building and maintaining the park.  All segments begin and end at the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park. 

The long course triathlon starts with a 1-mile kayak paddle.  The bike segment is an 18.5-mile loop bike ride through the countryside around Manawa on paved country roads.  The run segment is 3.5-mile looped run down “main street” of Manawa and features some local paved trails before heading back to the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park.

The short course triathlon starts with a 1/2-mile kayak.  The bike segment is an 9.25-mile loop bike ride through the countryside around Manawa on paved country roads.  The run segment is 1.5-mile loop run down “main street” of Manawa and then returning to the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park.

The Duathlon starts with a 1.5-mile run down “main street” of Manawa and then returning to the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park.  It continues with an 18.5-mile bike ride through the countryside around Manawa on paved country roads.  It finishes with a 3.5-mile run down “main street” of Manawa and features some local trails and then finishing at the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park.

Awards will be given for the top participants in each age group and all registrants receive a t-shirt.  Individual entry fee is $65 and Team entry fee is $85 for our 2nd Annual race.  Limited to the first 150 registrants.

Race Info:

Triathlon is a kayak division only.  No SUPs or Canoes will be allowed. No Tandem Kayaks.
Individual or Team Event.
Teams can be two or three person teams.  One person will compete in each event (two-person teams means one person has to do two events).  Teams must complete all 3 legs of the race to get an overall time and qualify for the overall team medals.
Teams will not be segregated by sex or age.
T-shirt sizes will be small, medium, large, extra-large, and 2XLarge. Participants must register by June 1 to be guaranteed a T-Shirt
Participants will receive water and fresh fruit after the race.  There will be a ‘brat fry’ available for purchase for participants and spectators as well as a DJ at the finish line.
Registration and Bib Pickup: Meet-N-Greet Friday Night (June 19th) 5pm-8pm at Manawa Area Veterans Freedom park

Individual age groups will be female and male: 14 to 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
