Triathlon : 1.5 mile Kayak, 10,16 or 23 mile bike, 1.5 mile or 5K run |
Come join us at our inaugural “Dry-Tri” event and “Propel” yourself through the Maunesha and the surrounding wetlands and farm fields that make up the river’s watershed to support improving the waterway’s quality and usability.
Date: Saturday, October 5th 2019
Time: Boats will leave in 2 waves at approx. 9 and 9:10 am; Same‐day registration from 8-8:45 am; Event support ends at 1 pm
Location: Fireman’s Park, Marshall, WI
Cost: Early Bird Registration by Sep 28th: $25 w/shirt, $20 no shirt; Same Day Registration $30 w/shirt (if available), $25 no shirt
Distances:
➢ Short Course: Kayak (1.5 miles) + Bike (10 miles) + Run/Walk (1.5 miles)
➢ Intermediate Course: Kayak (1.5 miles) + Bike (16 miles) + Run/Walk (1.5 miles)
➢ Long Course: Kayak (1.5 miles) + Bike (23 miles) + Run/Walk (5K)
Participant Notes:
• You may participate as an individual, as a partner, or as a member of a relay team of any variety
• Personal Flotation Device or PFDs (i.e. Life Jackets) are required for all participants of the kayak portion.
• Each participant or set of participants is/are responsible for securing their own watercraft for the kayak portion. A limited number of boats (kayaks or canoes) will be available for rent for $25. Contact the Maunesha River Alliance on Facebook, by phone (608) 516-1201, or by email [email protected] as early as possible if you are in need of a rental.
• This is an open course. Traffic will be present. Please plan and participate accordingly.
• Please stay to the far right while biking - especially on Hwy 19. When passing another participant throughout the course, be sure to vocalize your intent to pass by saying, “On your left.”
• If you experience any physical or mechanical issues on the bike portion of the course, sag support will be available on the course to transport you back to Fireman’s park. Please be patient as volunteers may be assisting other participants. In the case of an emergency dial 911.
• 0.7 miles of the intermediate distance route consists of gravel on a portion of Berlin road. Please choose either the short or long bike route if you wish to avoid gravel.
• Post-race water and snacks will be provided
• A liability waiver must be on file for each participant at check-in. No refunds for any reason. No transfers to future events or next year’s race.
• All registrations must be post marked by the deadline. We reserve the right to deny any registration if received late.
