Join us for the fourth annual Bec Tri August 6th, 2011 in the beautiful Vail Valley. The Bec Tri is a sprint triathlon that challenges athletes of all abilities. Race as an individual or with friends as a team. This is a great race for 1st time triathletes. The race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning at the Harry A. Nottingham Park in Avon.
The BecTri honors the memory of Becky Yarberry, an extraordinary young woman who passed away in a tragic auto accident in 2007. Becky had a generous heart, a loving spirit, and a passion for triathlons.
The race starts with a 400 meter swim in the beautiful Nottingham Lake. Swimmers should be prepared for water temperatures around 65-70 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended, but not required. The 15 km bike portion takes off from the park and circles through the Singletree neighborhood and then back to the park. Hop off your bike and finish with a fast 5 km run or walk along the pristine Eagle River Path. Finish while friends and family cheer you on at the park.
