This year's event will be held as a Triathon, 5K Walk/Run, and Kid’s Duathlon that should challenge athletes of all ages and abilities. All levels of athletes are encouraged to participate and should enjoy the lake and course.
Race as an individual or with friends as a team – it’s a great race for beginners who want to experience the challenge of a high-altitude, open-water swim.

The BecTri Sprint Triathlon, consists of a 400m swim in the beautiful high-altitude Nottingham Lake, a 15K road bike, followed by a fast 5K run on paved recreation paths.
The 2015 BecTri Sprint Triathlon starts in Harry A. Nottingham Park in Avon, Colorado with a 400m swim. Wet suits are not required, but are recommended.
The 15 km bike leg takes off from the transition area at the east end of Nottingham Park near Lake Street, continues north on Lake Street to Beaver Creek Blvd turns left to head west on Beaver Creek Blvd until riders reach Highway 6 and turn right to head west again. The bike route then circles through the Singletree neighborhood. The hill through the neighborhood climbs 400′ gently over about 1.7 miles. Racers ride back on Highway 6 and turn onto Lake street to return to the transition area.
Transition from your bike and finish with a fast 5K run or walk that leaves Nottingham Park to the Southeast along Riverfront Lane to the recreation path. Runners then head west along the river to Beaver Creek Blvd and back to the park. The run course map is pictured below. Finish in the park while friends and family cheer you along.
The 5K walk/run will follow the same route as the 5K triathlon course above. The 5K begins at 8:30 am.
The Kid’s Duathlon course consists of 1 lap running around Nottingham Lake and 2 laps cycling around the lake. There will also be a fun water feature! The Kid’s event will begin at approximately 10:30 am.
Parking is at the Beaver Creek BEAR Lot at Hwy 6 and Prater Rd/ W. Beaver Creek Road. Please allow yourself time to ride to the transition area for set-up.
From I-70, exit 167 Avon. Follow 3 roundabouts south to Highway 6. At the 4th roundabout, turn right onto Hwy 6. The Bear Lot is located about 1 mile west of Beaver Creek Resort’s main gate on Highway 6.
