2011 Tri Sheboygan:

On Saturday, August 13 at 7:30 a.m. the shoreline of Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, Wis. will come to life with the areas first ever USAT Olympic Distance Triathlon called, Tri Sheboygan.

This Olympic Distance Triathlon is designed to provide a quality triathlon experience for athletes looking to do their first Olympic Distance Triathlon or the athlete who is fine-tuning his or her training for a fall Ironman.

Proceeds from Tri Sheboygan will benefit the YMCA of Sheboygan County.

Course Information:

The 1.5K Swim, 40K Bike, and 10K Run is a USA Triathlon sanctioned, non-draft legal event that winds though the beautiful Sheboygan area.

The Swim is a triangle course in Lake Michigan.

The Bike course is a modified out and back course through the picturesque countryside of Sheboygan County.

The run course is a fast, flat 2-loop course, with each loop requiring athletes to run approximately a 1/4 mile section on the beach (tentative course maps available online).

Other Info:

All activities will originate from the transition area located on Sheboygans South Pier, home to many novelty stores, restaurants and a water park, which will keep the whole family entertained.

The host hotel, Blue Harbor Resort, is conveniently located on South Pier and will provide easy athlete access to the transition area.

The race course was specifically designed to accommodate the needs of race spectators with multiple athlete viewing opportunities for those wishing to cheer on their athletes.

A post-race party for athletes and their guests will feature many of Sheboygan Countys marquee consumer products and will offer participants a chance to TRY Sheboygan after they TRI Sheboygan.

Participants can register through active.com as Individual Age Groupers or Relay Teams which are both welcome to compete.

All athletes must be 14 yeas of age or older to participate.
Each participant will receive an event tech tee and finisher medal.
Awards will be given to the Top 3 finishers in each Age Group by gender.
Cash prizes of $500-$350-$150 will be awarded to the Overall Top 3 Men and Overall Top Three Women for 1st-2nd-3rd place, respectively.
