_ 2018 BADCAT Ultra Distance Off Road Triathlon:
For true endurance badasses: A 390 mile mountain triathlon featuring a 40 mile kayak, 250 mile mountain bike, and 100 mile run across Utah. 99% of the race is on dirt roads. Relay and tandem entries welcome!
Course Information:
Support crews may interact with their athletes at any time, in any way, except to propel the athlete along the course. Aid may be provided freely; but no drafting or magic spanners.
The kayak is 40 miles on Lake Powell, moving west from the Bullfrog Marina past Iceberg Canyon, then returning easterly to Bullfrog.
The bike Part is essentially a gravel grinder: 248 miles north from Bullfrog to Trucker, UT. Nearly all of the bike section is on low traffic dirt roads. The second transition will be at the Tie Fork Rest Area in Tucker, UT. A significant portion of the famed Skyline Parkway is featured.
The final Part, the run, is 105 miles featuring 10 miles of trail and 1 mile of pavement. The remaining 94 miles are dirt roads.
The race will conclude at the lovely Camelot Resort in Fruitland, UT. Camping at the finish is prepaid by the RD: all participants, families, and crews are invited and welcomed to join!
Directions:
Start from Bullfrog Marina in Bullfrog, UT, on Lake Powell. Leaving transition #1 move north across Capitol Reef National Park and the Skyline To Tie Fork Rest Area in Tucker, UT. Leaving transition #2 run on sofr forest roads to Camelot Resort in Fruitland, UT. Proceed to party your ass off.
