_ The 2018 Girls Best Friend Triathlon:

The setting is another beautiful Kalamazoo County Park, Prairie View in Vicksburg. This event is close to 10 yrs. old now, morphing into the women’s only GBF. Located just south of Kalamazoo and just north of Vicksburg, it is a perfect spot to host an all-female event. A nice small, clean, clear, calm lake swim with no houses, a flat all right turn bike course on smooth rural roads, and a part cross country part paved path run course that will keep you entirely inside Prairie View County Park.

The park is just minutes away from downtown Kalamazoo, the Air Museum, Western Michigan University and plenty of hotel choices.  A great venue and event for both the experienced and first-time female multi-sport athlete.

Annmarie makes this event special for the ladies, as she is in charge at this venue.

Course Information:

The swim is in Hog Eye Lake - a small lake with very little going on and only one house on it. It is a clear, shallow lake. You will have the noodle support on the lake as well, so use as you need them.

The bike is as flat as a pancake, all right turns around farmland. It is a 20k bike course. Long course athletes will do 2 laps. Continue past the park for lap two, do not turn into the park until you have completed both laps.

The run course is a cross country style course - entirely closed, and entirely inside the park. The course is used by local high schools and community colleges for their cross country course. It is flat with two short, small hills and tree-lined most of the way.
