_ The 2018 GLBRT - Row - Ride - Run:
The Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail’s Row - Ride - Run event will offer an opportunity to fully experience the history and revitalization of Saginaw, MI. This is a rare urban triathlon that will feature a paddle on the Saginaw River and Lake Linton, taking in the serene landscape of the Japanese Cultural Center, The Montague Inn and the possibility of seeing some of the bald eagles on Ojibway Island. A 20K bicycle route will feature some of Saginaw’s most historic architecture as well as the new resurgence of development in Downtown Saginaw, the likes of the SVRC Marketplace, the Bancroft Luxury Apartments and the Saginaw Farmer’s Market. The 5K run that completes the event takes place on the scenic Saginaw Riverwalk, winding through Ojibway Island on the banks of the Saginaw River. This is an event you won’t want to miss that offers easy access, a large Transition Area and ample parking.
The first short sprint run will take you around the venue to create an exciting run down to your Kayak/Canoe. This will create just a little separation and provide some entertainment for your fellow competitors as well as spectators at the start of each wave.
The Kayak/Canoe discipline will take you down the Saginaw River around the bridge before heading back with a short section inside the lake before exiting next to the start.
The Bike discipline will take you on a loop course around the city of Saginaw, Downtown Saginaw. The course is flat and fast and will encompass the history of Saginaw.
The Run discipline again will take you on a flat and fast historic tour of Downtown through the streets across bridges before finishing at the venue.
