2011 Duel at Darby Duathlon, 5K & 10K:

Chomping at the bit to get outside and compete?  Participate in the first duathlon of the season in Hilliard at the Duel at Darby Duathlon, 5K & 10K.

It's a flat and fast course with some soft rolling hills on the bike course.

SWAG: All participants will receive a nice Brooks Podium technical shirt (yes, ladies...women's cut for you!).

First place winners of each event (men & women) will receive a gift card or merchandise valued at $50 (runners receive from FrontRunner, duathletes receive from roll:bicycles).

Bring one (1) canned good up to five (5) and you're entered into the raffle for CleanBottle water bottles where the top and the bottom are removable for easy cleaning (http://www.cleanbottle.com/).  All bottles will have another secret surprise inside!

The Mid-Ohio Foodbank's Operation Feed, the Salvation Army & the Hilliard Food Pantry.

A pancake breakfast will be served for the participants along with all kinds of other yummy breakfast items.  For a nominal fee, breakfast items will also be available for sale for any friends and family that come to spectate with a portion of the proceeds going to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, as well.

Course Information:

Mass start for all races at 7:30am! All runners start at Hilliard Darby High School with the sound of a gun. Athletes will start in the Hilliard Darby High School parking lot for an out and back run that is straight, flat and super fast on the quiet Hilliard Heritage Rail Trails path. At the turn around, Duathletes will return to transition (T1) while 5K and 10K athletes head for the finish line.

For Duathletes, the bike course has a one loop (Sprint) or two loop (Olympic) course. Athletes will exit from the parking lot and turn left onto Leppert Rd then right onto a fast opening 4 mile stretch onto Scioto Darby. A left turn onto Amity Rd will lead the Duathletes onto a challenging 3 mile section of rolling hills. The rest of the course is flat and fast as all make a loop and return to transition.

Its back onto the wary legs for the Duathletes as the 5K sprinters or 10K Olympic distance athletes return to the Trail for the final leg.
