SWIM: Athletes will swim a guaranteed 1/4, 12 or 1.5K swim in Lake Meridian. The course will be littered with lifeguards, City of Kent Police, EMTs, and kayakers....not that youd need any of them.....but theyll be there anyhow.
BIKE: All 3 bike courses will exit the main entrance of Lake Meridian Park and head south on Kent-Black Diamond Road. At Lake Holm road, Super Sprint athletes will turn around. Everyone else will head to a rolling loop on Lake Holm and Lake Moneysmith roads. When you return to Kent-Black Diamond, sprint athletes will head back to the park. Cyclists on the Olympic course will continue south after the loop toward Lake Sawyer in Black Diamond and their turnaround. Athletes will enjoy a generally downhill ride back on Auburn- and Kent-Black Diamond road.
The roads will be open to vehicular traffic, but there are generous shoulders for riding. Please obey traffic laws during competition. Police support and volunteers will be present at all intersections where cyclists and vehicles might encounter each other to assure your safe, unimpeded progress on the course.
RUN: Runners will exit transition and run north through the park and to King Countys Soos Creek trail for their out-and-back runs.
