The USAT Sanctioned "HOTS" Triathlon features a rural island Sprint Triathlon course: a saltwater dip in protected Quartermaster Harbor followed by a challenging bike course along the forested roads and rolling hills of Vashon, leading to a gentle run twice around the Burton Peninsula.

There will be informal "Kids Tris" after the Sprint race, sign up on race day (parental attendance required).

Course Information:

Two age-group swim waves start at the cannon shot from the gig Bounty of Krister for a half mile salt water swim (62 degrees),

Followed by an open course bike ride of 14.6 miles (two hills)

and then two gentle laps around the Burtn Peninsula for a 3.6 mile run.

Directions:

Vashon Island is in Puget Sound between Seattle and Tacoma and the Kitsap Peninsula, and is only reachable by Washington State car and passenger Ferry (and private boat/plane, if you have it!).

Go east at the Burton 4-way stop after you get your espresso at the Burton Coffee Stand. which is about 9 miles from the Seattle Ferry, about a 25 minute drive time down the highway.
