Course Information:
Swim
The swim will be held in spring-fed Ottawa Lake, well-known for summer activities and its nice beach. The Sprint distance swim will be a rectangle course with shorter course for 12 Sprint distance participants. The Olympic Distance will be two loops of the rectangle course. Race will start in waves. SWIM CAPS ARE MANDATORY.
Lifeguards and boats will be in the water for safety . Swim buddies can be requested pre-race (A swim buddy is an experienced open water swimmer that will swim along side you for support). Wetsuit use will be governed by USAT rules, and is based on water temperatures taken on race morning. In the event water temperatures are too warm to officially allow wetsuit use, those still wishing to wear a wetsuit will start in separate waves with non-official times.
Bike
The bike course takes you west of the park and will be a fast, flat course for all distances. The Olympic distance course will be two loops.
Run
The run will be a flat course, with a combination of paved roads, grass trail and paved trail through the park and on country roads.
