2013 Michigan Swim/Run Series:

Stony Creek Metorpark is probably Michigans number one multi-sport athlete training spot.

Not only because of its location but a perfect 10k loop around the lake.

A prime spot for both trail running, and biking but also road biking offers both flat on one side of the lake and hilly on the other.

We hosted the world junior Team USA qualifying event and Stony Creek was also the site of our first Michigan State Triathlon Championship.

We introduced the swim - run training series concept years ago, and probably was a little ahead of its time in terms of multi-sport training in Michigan.

Given the sports growth and popularity we thought it was the right time to bring it back. Of course Stony Creek Metropark is the perfect venue.

Course Information:

Stony Creek lake is typically a warm lake so you can plan on temps being in the 70s. Flat water most of the time, it can take some good winds to get the water moving with it being surrounded by trees. The course itself will be determined by weed growth in the lake, in past years we have used a diagonal course drawing a line from Baypoint beach to the boat launch as that has been a deeper section with less weeds. The run course will be a quick cross country section to get you out to the paved path around the metropark. From that point it will be flat out and back, some tree lined
