Description: 2009 Merritt Athletic Club Indoor Triathlon Series:
  • The Merritt Athletic Club Indoor Triathlon Series is an indoor triathlon series with the focus of raising money for American Diabetes Association.
  • This is the inaugural series and will have 3 races in all.
  • This event is open for both members and non-members alike.

    Championship Race:
  • The top 4 males and top 4 females from these first three events will participate in our Merritt Athletic Clubs Indoor Triathlon Series Championship in February of 2010 under The Tri To Help™ indoor triathlon for epilepsy research banner.
  • Course Info: The course consists of the following disciplines:
  • 10-minute swim in lap pool
  • 10-minute transition (swim to bike)
  • 30-minute bike (stationary or spin bike)
  • 5-minute transition (bike to run)
  • 20-minute treadmill run

    Event Schedule:
  • The first heat of this and every event following begins at 8:00 a.m.
  • A new heat begins every 40 minutes.
  • The event is based on time (60 minutes of racing for each participant) unlike an outdoor triathlon based on distance. Performance is measured by total distance covered in the time allowed. The more distance covered, the higher the score.
  • Other Info: Volunteers:
  • Each participant will have a volunteer following them through the race to record distances covered during the swim, bike and run stages
